Alair stood atop the rounded mountain's majesticaly like an idiot. Her four leg's were practically doing the splits as she slipped and slidded against the glossy surface. Yelps of surpise and pain echoed against the crisp air of the Yujik Mountains. Her eye's were wide with the fear that her leg's would come off and her raven tail was splayed like a peacock. She looked hilarious. With a few unsteady failured, Altair managed to stand but because she was so light she began to slide down the large hill. An agonized whimper escaped her and soon she was flying down the "mountain" with her paws in front and her bottom grinding the icy ground. She howled all the way down until she hit the sno below the mountains- more welcoming and kind. She clambered up the soft snow to look back up the steep fall and saw a trail of both blood and black feathers. Altair lifted her tail to see alot of the feathers bent and broken. What was on Altair's face? A smile.
With a shake of her pelt she got up and stretched- her tail fanning out along with her downward dog stretch. A pleased sigh left her lips and she shook herself off again. With a flcik of her bird tail, she hoisted herself up unto the soft snow and paced along the steppes of the mountain hills. Altair kept glancing up to look at the mountains frequently and a shiver would pass through her. With a snort, she directed her path back up the steep slope. Her tail helped break her fall whenever she slid back down but she managed to make it halfway there and rest on a little outsropping. Life was both good and bad but at least it would not be as it once was.

Ferris had no idea why he was in the mountains. The blasted things were so cold. He had always preferred warmer weather, especially in contrast to winter. Snow tended to make his coat rust just as much as water. Snow. Gross. He was standing in the stuff now, gingerly hopping from paw to paw, as if he could somehow prevent the rust from creeping up his legs. Thankfully, he was safe for now. He hadn't been in the white stuff long enough. Give it some time, though, and he'd lock up like a tree.
He sniffed about a bit, instantly regretting coming anywhere near the mountains. There was nothing interesting around. With some difficultly, he trotted through the snow, trying to find a dry patch so he wouldn't rust. Ferris spotted one quickly - a small mound of earth, peppered with a few lonely shoots of grass. Just as he was about to go and sun himself on it, he saw something strange out of the corner of his eye. He turned to face it and furrowed his brow slightly. What was it? A multitude of mangled black feathers lay in splattered blood, highly contrasting with the snow. It was as if a crow had been wounded but simply flown away.
Ferris padded toward the foreign object and sniffed it lightly. There seemed to be a trail of the stuff, and he followed it, nose low to the ground. For a few minutes it went like this, with Ferris following the blood trail, tripping over a twig or a rock every so often. Eventually it led to an edge. He peered over it cautiously, surprised to find a Luzion like himself perched on an outcropping below.
"What are you doing?" was the first phrase to come out of his mouth. Not "my name is Ferris" or "how do you do," but a question phrased more like a chastising remark. Immediately he wished he'd kept his mouth shut, not really wanting to get involved in things. Ferris had the dreadful feeling in the pit of his stomach that something bad would happen. Then again, he usually had that feeling anyway.

With a defiant huff, Altair attempted to lift herself but to no avail. She flopped back down on her little outcropping, her head hanging down at the side as she stared into that wintry wonderland. She was about to pick herself up once more when a voice spoke from out of the blue. The hairs on Altair's back stood up in her surprise and she managed to flip herself around to see a wolf above her, peering down at her. A smile alighted her muzzle and she tilted her head upwards so she could catch a better view. "I'm trying to get up!" Altair shouted at the other Luzion, her tail ruffling itself to try and get warmer. "But I'm already up," Altair said more quietly, becoming disheartened at the fact that she was "helped" up by this stranger.
With a flick of her ears she attemped to clamber up the somewhat steep hill but once more, to no avail. She whimpered in frustration and gave up as quickly as she had tried. "It's no use," She muttered, the cold air adding on to her sadness by causing her breath to take form. Altair's bright yellow eye's stared in wonder as the mist decimated as quickly as it had come. She never got tried of that. Altair forgot the stranger for a moment and started to wheeze instead of breath normally. Thick "clouds" as she called them, came and went. It was positively wonderful! With a snap of her head she looked back at the near black Luzion and even though the snow shone brightly, Altair smiled even brighter. "Come down, come down," She chirped, gesturing with her nose to come to the place beside her. The snow quietly fell to the ground, covering Altair's fur. She looked like a white wolf from afar but underneath all that snow rested a black as pitch color that was not cold... but warm.

He studied the female with unhindered curiosity, mostly as to why she was acting so odd. She had flipped over, smiled at him. Ferris drew back slightly, surprised. It wasn't like others to act kindly to him. "Well, to get up, you usually...Put your paws on the ground," came his soft retort. Anyone else would have left by that point, he was sure of it. She seemed to be trapped, unable to get up the hill. Perhaps it was too steep. Whenever she scrambled up the slope, she simply lost her footing and slid down again. A small shiver went down his spine as he watched, reminding him of the cold. Ferris immediately began to be gloomy again, imagining the wonderful world below that was completely free of anything to do with snow and ice. He sighed wistfully, wishing he had never visited the mountains in the first place, reminiscing of sweet green grass and brightly colored flowers- nothing like this world of gray and white. It seemed odd that when there was no snow, the mountains could be just as plentiful. Right now they looked like a blank canvas, longing to be painted on.
Ferris sighed once more, not really paying attention to the female. He jumped slightly when she spoke to him; he had not expected it. Now's the time to leave, Ferris, his mind said. Why should he help her? Perhaps he should just go and fetch help instead of attempting to be of use himself. They would most certainly be trapped on that blasted ledge if he went down too. He peered over the edge somewhat hesitantly. Though it was only a few feet down, he was further disheartened by the fact that if either of them fell off the ledge, it would be a long fall. Ferris' paw knocked against a pebble, which bounced on the ledge past the female and hurtled into space. It was lost among the fog, drifting away from the graying clouds overhead. With a start, he realized what this meant. "Oh no," he muttered. "I think it's going to snow!" And indeed it did. As he said it, a delicate snowflake landed on his muzzle. Immediately it melted against his warm body. Though the snow didn't seem to bother her, he was still a bit wary.
"I'm going to get help," he called to her. "I don't think it'll be any use if I'm down there with you." He turned to leave, fully intending to go back. As he did so, he slipped on a particularly slippery patch of snow. His limbs splayed out and his eyes flew wide in surprise. Attempting to regain balance, he slid wildly on the ice and hurtled into space. Ohgodsohgodsohgods seemed to be the only thing he was capable of thinking. In less than a moment, he felt himself hit ground. Pain shot through his body. "I am so dead," he moaned. Cracking an eye, he saw the strange female standing above him. "Ahh!" The luzion scrambled up, ignoring the dull pain that ached in his side from the landing. When he nearly tripped over the ledge, he yelled again and backed up against the side of the mountain. He took a moment to regain his bearings, breathing heavily from the adrenaline rush that came with too many surprises at one time. He could feel his heart thump wildly beneath his ribs.
"Well, a fat lot of good that's going to do us," he said in an ironic tone. For a few moments they sat there, veiled in an awkward silence. It wasn't every day that you accidentally got trapped on a ledge by falling off a mountain, after all. Ferris continued to breath heavily, still laying against the snow on the side of the mountain. When his body began to fall back, he scrambled up again. The snow was caving in. "What's this?" he muttered to himself, and began to dig the snow away. In a few moments, there was a tunnel through the snow that seemed to lead elsewhere. Wonder where this leads... He motioned to the female and flatted himself, crawling on his belly through the hole. Inside the tunnel it was cold and dark, snow falling onto him from the ceiling. Moments later, he emerged on the other side, surprised to find himself inside the mountain. He peered inside the tunnel, waiting for the female to emerge. "Coming? I think I've found a way to get out..."
