New York City.
[/sup]2008: New York's finest dog breeders had a great year producing some of the world's finest police dogs, show dogs, and other dogs for the world to see. But, because of this, other dogs were abandoned and left to see to themselves on the streets of the Big Apple. Pampered dogs were shoved to the side to make room for the 'new' dog, the one everyone wanted to pet and hold and cuddle. New York's pounds were overcrowded and it caused a little bit of a fiancial struggle for the already economically weak city. Pounds were being expanded and some were being shut down - other's lost their fundings and some gained government help to keep going. It was a struggle of the fittest. That was when people started to hear that the dogs were being abused in some of these pounds, the ones that were being paid for. Animal Activists were starting to get riled up and caused a bit of a mess when they raided one of New York's finest pounds, releasing over two hundred dogs back onto the streets. Humans were in an uproar for over seven months while the city struggled to get the dogs back. That was when they got the news.
2009: Happy Bloody New Year. A huge tsunami had wiped the entire burrows out, and had washed half of New York away. Those who survived wanted out, and the government turned to the head honcho's for help. When refused, they took their beloved city and shut it off to the rest of the world. No more exports, nothing can come in. They were loosing money and it was going to go no where. So, cutting the city off from the rest of the world and basically abandoning it, humans left New York, and allowed the world leaders to slowly wipe it and it's mess off the map.
But, where did this leave the animals left behind? Those dogs who survived the tsunami were forced to live on their own on the streets were half held buildings were home and Central Park was their only means of escaping. Most feared the return of the deadly waves that wiped half of their beloved city out. But now with the new future ahead of them, canines within New York have taken to the city... to their city.
