//-The air was light and thin in a suffocating way on this mid-winter night, it's talons digging deep within the females pelt and leaving her skin frigid. She did not suffer as most others did with these cold months, but she was far from immune to it's torments. Silently, she flexed her furred paws in the snow in the hopes that movement would keep them from freezing over. She had never fallen victim to frostbite, but she knew it took the limbs first. Turning her head to the side, she examined her own tracks leading to her current position atop the foothills of the Yujik mountain. Her own imagination played with the scenery around her, non-existent kin taking wing around her to lay mastery over the lands as her father had done, that great winged male of her home. He had been the one to give her her sabers, those glittering, gleaming teeth that lay bare to the world as they hung beneath her lips for all to see and fear. He had not, however, given her his wings, as he had to most of her other siblings. She was one of only two in her entire family to never take flight and feel the wind slide beneath velvet wings, and had been in some way a blow to her father's pride. He was a great beast, as was her mother, and he was supposed to sire even greater. It was expected, it was needed. Evolution demanded it, and in all things concerning her, he felt a steep failure.;
//- But, she thought, she had proved him wrong when she quickly climbed the ranks from lowly pup to greatest warrior, among the males. She had inherited his cunning, his thought processing, and she had inherited her mother's noble figure. She was intelligent, she was fearsome, she was powerful. She was flightless, but she was far from being less than her siblings. They had wings to soar and, in a crunch, to pound and beat, but she had a revolutionary's mind to dodge them. Such thoughts of the past whistled through her mind like a deep clarinet, until she shook her head and cast them away. Great men had wasted away years of their life dreaming of the past, and what might have been. She cared not where she had been so long ago, or how far she had come, only for where she yet wished to go. She was here, on this hilltop, for a reason. Powerful acts of fate at work? Hardly. She was here to scout out free land, and loners wishing to join her. She had every intention of becoming alpha of her own pack now, before it became to late. She was young yet, at the top of her game, but that wasn't going to last forever. Death claimed all things, and when it came for her, she was determined that she would meet it as a proud queen.;
//- Stepping up higher onto her perch, Israfil touched her nose to the sky and loosed a strange, melodic howl, a summons to all around her. "come to me!" it beckoned, "I am here! I am waiting!" Any packs in the area would here, and respond (whether kindly or not, depending), and any loners who cared enough to investigate would likely search her out. All that was left for her to do now was wait. She tucked her feet beneath her warm belly and placed her body into the snow, the flattened plush instantly forming a frigid nest around her, and yawned, glittering fangs open and ready for the world for a brief moment. Whatever was coming, she could wait, she was ready. For a pack? Not today, no, maybe not ever, but for a new meeting, a new beginning, yes.;

It was freezing out, even with her winter pelt it still stung her so she either kept moving or would lay down in a pile of black, blue, and white fur. Fur and feathers, she would cover herself with her wings and her legs under herself, and it usually would keep her at a good temperature. She was currently walking around the ground, moving her wings slightly, miniature beats of air coming from them and keeping them from becoming stiff, or frostbitten. Her lean shape moved through the snow, her paws were freezing, and she was about to stop and take a break, this was one of her ways to keep warm, she was also one that wasn't for staying in one place too long. The wolfess layed down and cleaned her freezing paws that had moved over the land. She wiggled her toes and once they were clean she tucked them underneath her and closed her wings around her. She was like a beckon here in the snow, her fur was so contrasted against the snow. Like day and night, it made her feel a little uneasy, she didn't know why but it did. This world of white she had not yet gotten use to, but she would soon, she just knew it. She would have to live in it for the rest of her life whenever it was winter. Her feet were warming and she had dozed off into a light sleep when she heard a melodic howl that sounded like it was calling. That the caller was waiting for wolves to come to her. Luncia figured it was a her since males usually didn't have melodic howls, though anything can happen. She raised her head and listened to see if there was anything else but she did not hear anything else. She stiffly raised herself out of the small nest shaped impression where she had rested. She shook herself and some snow drifted off of her fur. She stretched her self and yawned, her sleep had been enough to give her a good amount of rest. Luncia was jogging and then started to flap her wings, soon enough she was raising to the sky and the sun warmed her and her feathers. Her mainly black pelt was storing the warmth, this was the good and bad thing about the color black. In winter it stored heat for some reason and kept her warmer, but in summer she had to be careful to not over heat. She rose above Yujik mountain slowly, getting use to the changing pressure, though she wouldn't be able to stay slightly above the mountain. She would have to come down slowly too, the mountain was a place that needed to be respected and you had to be careful around it to. She then started to glide down and around the mountain. She spotted a wolf on the foothills of the Yujik mountain, it was the only one around so far so she glided down in small circles and then wider ones, finally landing near the wolf. She folded her wings and walked over to the wolf and sat down. "Hello, I'm Luncia did you call? If you did, what did you call for?" she asked the wolf. While flying her legs had started to get stiff and so she wiggled her toes and then layed down onto of them. Even here the air was thin and cold, though it would be nice to talk with someone.

//- Israfil was surprised, in a pleasant way, when she received no voiced reply, but instead caught shape to a slowly rising figure against the sky. It's shape was yet vague, with no details standing out besides it's bold color. It almost disappeared against the midnight sky, but if not for the hints of blue and white across it's form, and for a few minutes, Israfil wondered if it had simple started to snow, and her eyes had deceived her. Her doubt was short lived, and she rose to her feet as the graceful figure landed before her and perched itself upon the ground close by. A fae, and a magnificent one at that, with proud wings and bold shape. Israfil found herself silent for a split second, taking in the details of this creature before her. She was beautiful, as their species was meant to be, and it was refreshing to take in another of her kind after months of travel and solitude.
//- After a second more, she gave her smooth reply, her musical voice ringing from word to word like a small silver bell "Salutations, stranger, I am Israfil. I am the one that called. Can you tell me, please, if there is any pack of our kind in this area?" She composed herself neutrally, her tail held loose and her ears swiveling at sound in an uncaring fashion. Anyone watching would think she was simply a loner looking to either join a pack, or avoid any potential confrontations. The only thing that would have poked holes through that facade would have been her summons in the first place. Just a mite to curious for the more inquisitive, but oh well. She would usually like to avoid causing trouble in the area, but this wasted less time. Swift and direct was how things got done. ;
//- She eyed the femme's wings for a brief second, but moved her eyes back to look directly into the black-ice she-wolf's own orbs as an unexpected pang of jealousy struck her gut. She barely noticed how her shoulder's rippled instinctively. She had no wings, and she knew that, but her body sometimes forgot. Genes had made flight instinct for her, but they had also taken away her means to exercise that instinct. Oh well, que sera sera, whatever will be, will be. What should be, is. ;

Luncia listened to the she-wolf's twinkling voice. It was like the howl and she knew this was the wolf that had called out in the first place. The one that got her find out where the howl came from and the one that Luncia would be able to talk with some. "I don't know if there is another pack. I've seen other loners before, but I haven't found any pack places that are marked. If I had found one, I would have most likely joined them. It gets lonely in the winter here," she said kindly. She took notice to Israfil's sabers, her fangs glinting in the light. They were fantastic, she felt envy slip into her before she pushed it away. She looked back to Israfil's head in total and then out of the corner of her eyes saw Israfil's shoulder muscles ripple so she turned her attention back to Israfil's face. It seemed that Israfil's body was meant to fly, though Luncia envied Israfil's fangs. They were so deadly and graceful at the same time, they amazed her. She once again pushed the envy away and watched Israfil's face, to see if there was a hint of any emotion.
Her paws were warm again and she could feel them so she brought them out and then sat up. The chill still nipped at her and she didn't expect less, she almost expected more. Her wings were slightly beating, but not so much as to create too much wind. She had to keep moving them or else the muscles would stiffen up and she wanted them loose for now. After awhile she stopped and t them to her sides, they would be good for a while, and she didn't want to make it colder than it had to be. She looked up to the sky and then back to Israfil. She was relaxed sitting up and waiting for an answer, she just wished that spring was going to come soon like her senses were saying, only a few more weeks and then this cold weather would slow start to warm up.

//- She had to smile and nod her head in agreement. It did get lonely for a traveler, especially in the harshest of seasons. She spent most of her time wandering it seemed, always driven from each pack by her own discontent to follow. It was a lifestyle that contrasted harshly with her great desire to be among others and her needed for companionship. It was the price to be payed, she thought, for being so ambitious and unwilling to settle for less than the best. Truth be told... she didn't mind it that much, not when she really thought about it. It made her stronger, really, being able to deal for so long with the one thing she disliked most. She needed to be strong to lead, right? Right. ;
//- Not just every runny nosed twit could make a pack, not unless he planned on leading a pack of other twits (or rabid raccoons. Take your pick.) "I think... it could be quite lonely here any time of the year." She arched her neck to stare back at the towering mountains that lay so distant and so close all at once. Those mountains could swallow a god, she mused, and not even get heartburn. So easy to get lost, to fall, to lose sight in such treacherous terrain. Common sense said here was a good place, in the foothills. It was hilly enough to suit her species, but not so close to the mountain that they should fall pray to it's veracious hunger. ;
//- An unconscious action now, Israfil flexed her toes again. The mountains weren't the only killers here, not with Winter digging it's talons into every creature it could. She missed the Fall, that perfect time of the year. Not so hot as Summer and Spring, when her heavy coat dragged her down and made her miserable, and not o bitter and cold as the Winter. It was chilly,but not overly so, and it had a beautiful lack of humidity that could make her sing. Oh well, it gave her something else to hope for in the coming year. "Do not think of how far you have come." her father's words rung through her head, making her smile. "But of how far you yet wish to go." wise words that fit perfectly into everything, even such seemingly unimportant things like a favorite season, but one could expect no less from her proud sire.
//- Israfil rose to her feet and shook the snow from her pelt before settling down into her soft nest again. The wet stuff had settled into her fur and had begun to melt against her warm down, something that she couldn't allow. "I'll be glad once this blasted snow is gone though." she added to her previous statement, grinning in a way that could have been called sheepish on anyone else. How funny, chatting about the weather like old nanny wolves, gray with time. How amusing. ;

Luncia listened as Israfil spoke, she saw her smile and her fangs glinted again. She did not was to have envy but she did. Why? She did not care to find out. She had blown most of the snow out of her fur, but there was some that started to melt and so she stood up and shook. Her wings were folded in so that they didn't go flying every where. Some snow and water flew off of her and she stretched, her body went up and she was on her tip toes. Her wings fully open and out. She was stretching everything at once. Her spine then came down and she was standing again. She remebered why she was a loner, and it was because of the alpha.
She had been kicked out of her pack before she actually left. She hated being under someone, so she challenged the alpha before she left. Long story shot, she lost badly and was thrown out.
She returned to normality and returned her attention to Israfil. "So,what do you want to talk about now?" she asked her.Her thoughts curned with the possiblities.
